Historically emeralds were seen as an amulet that could protect against spells. The beauty and symbolic power of emeralds have fasinated civilizations and royalty for over 6,000 years, one of the first emerald mines in Egypt was named after Cleopatra because of her love of the gemstone.
Emeralds are a green to bluish green with the most desirable have a strong vivid colour saturation.
If you do have emerald jewellery we recommend NOT using an ultrasonic cleaner or steam as both can cause the gemstone to crack. Warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush is the safest way to clean emeralds.
